I first discovered Kui Wanyoike a little over an year ago on Instagram, I was at that time looking for a Yogini model and I can say its truly an honor I got to know her and meet her in person.
''It is a mistake to think that the goal of yoga is only to get strong and flexible. Yes, you will get a strong, flexible body if you practice yoga. But if you focus exclusively on this you will miss the real gift of yoga, which is, inner peace'' Kui explains.
To her, Yoga is not just a physical practice but a path she walk everyday and with a purpose to unite the mind, body, and spirit with yoga.
Here's what we shot at Fourteen Falls, Thika, Kenya;
Well, I'm not so sure why the shoot took almost an year to happen but we kept postponing due to unavoidable circumstances but we finally did it. Thats pretty much of how this shoot came about.
The day started all well, clear sky, fine clouds, beautiful sunrise but by midday it was all hell, total overcast and afternoon showers started when we were on our way, that was the most terrifying thing I had seen. Luckily, the sky cleared and we managed to shoot.

In this video Kui explains what yoga means to her and her career.
The whole production wouldn't have been possible without the perfect coordination of everyone involved, the producer, tour guides who also doubled as assistants and the other crew who made sure I worry less about everything else and concentrate on my pictures. thanks y'all !!!!
The Team!!! Amazing guys! and thanks to Murayan who took this photo.
From a Daily Nation feature WOMAN OF PASSION, Kui expressed her Kenyan Dream; ''She dreams of building her own studio where she can welcome different teachers to teach their own types of yoga. For now though, she is content teaching yoga to as many Kenyans as she can.''
Kui Wanyoike is running a yoga business 'YogawithKui' with regular classes running in Karen, Lavington, Runda, Kilimani and even in schools. You can follow her work on instagram @nairobiyogarebel
